At the two-hour summit participants adopted a joint declaration and
the "Thessaloniki Agenda for the Western Balkans", approved
yesterday by EU heads.
The Agenda identifies priority reform steps for five countries
included in the Stabilisation and Association process (SAp) --
Croatia, Bosnia, Serbia and Montenegro, Macedonia and Albania --
for drawing closer to the EU.
"The Summit has justified our great expectations," the head of the
Croatian delegation, President Stjepan Mesic, told reporters.
Individual approach to accession into the Union and necessity for
regional cooperation have been confirmed, he added.
The Croatian delegation includes Foreign Minister Tonino Picula
and European Integration Minister Neven Mimica.
