former Yugoslavia. #L#
The Slovene news agency STA today quoted officials at Rop's office
as saying that Rop had not made the said statement and that Slovenia
supported Croatia's admission to the EU as that was also in its
interest.
The Ljubljana-based paper "Delo" yesterday reported that during a
lecture in Berlin Rop had made his country's support for Croatia's
integration in the EU conditional on the successful completion of
the succession process.
The Croatian Foreign Ministry said in a statement yesterday that
Rop's statement was inappropriate.
