11 million square metres of land were cleared of mines, which cost

Mine removal experts discovered 2,894 land mines and unexploded
devices in the area.
The HCR Council held a session in Sisak yesterday to discuss a
report on the implementation of the national mine clearance plan
for the period from January to May 2003, which indicates a
significantly increased mine-free area compared to last year.
The Council also considered an annual report by the United Nations
Development Programme's technical advisor with the HCR, Harald
Wie.
