Svilanovic said Friday. #L#
"Pressure on Serbia-Montenegro keeps decreasing and if after this
we are able to say that Ratko Mladic is not in the country, then the
largest part of our work in relations with the Hague tribunal is
behind us," Svilanovic told Radio B92
After a 10-hour police operation, Sljivancanin was arrested in his
Belgrade apartment shortly after midnight today.
He did not put up resistance, but 10 policemen were injured in a
clash with about 100 Sljivancanin's hard-line supporters.
On 7 November 1995, the International Criminal Tribunal for the
former Yugoslavia indicted Sljivancanin, Milo Mrksic and Miroslav
Radic for war crimes against humanity, the violation of laws and
customs of war and harsh violations of the Geneva conventions
committed in mass executions of at least 200 Croats in Ovcara, near
Eastern Croatian town of Vukovar almost 12 years ago.
