ZAGREB, June 5 (Hina) - Almost 86 percent of Croatian citizens believe that corruption is spread in the country, mostly in the health system, judiciary and bodies of local government. These are the findings of an opinion poll
conducted on a sample of 1,000 citizens in May by a non-governmental organisation, Transparency International Croatia.

believe that corruption is spread in the country, mostly in the
health system, judiciary and bodies of local government. These are
the findings of an opinion poll conducted on a sample of 1,000
citizens in May by a non-governmental organisation, Transparency

Almost half of the citizens, 46.2%, believe that the presence of
corruption today is at the same level as it was three years ago.
Thirty percent think that there is more corruption, while 20% said
it was less.
Assessing corruption in central bodies of authority, the
questioned indicated a fairly high level of trust. Forty-seven
percent think that the president is not corrupt, while 17%
suspected him of corruption.
As regards the prime minister, 39.8% people believe he is not
corrupt, 25% believe he is, while 54.6% think ministers and their
deputies are inclined to corruption for the most part.
A large majority of those questioned, 92%, believe that state
officials need to turn in their property report each year and that
all information of general importance should be available to the
public.
