AGRICULTURAL CENSUS TO START ON SUNDAY

ZAGREB, May 31 (Hina) - Six hundred households and some 2,500 companies and company units will be included in the first agricultural census to start in Croatia after 40 years on Sunday, June 1.
ZAGREB, May 31 (Hina) - Six hundred households and some 2,500 companies and company units will be included in the first agricultural census to start in Croatia after 40 years on Sunday, June 1. #L# The census will be conducted by the Central Bureau of Statistics in cooperation with the Financial Agency (FINA). In the next 15 days, some 13,000 census-takers will be collecting data on the country's farming sector. The census will provide information on the actual situation in the agricultural sector as well as indicators necessary for planning and adopting decisions on its development. The census is in line with the European Union's methods of compiling farming registers. The census results will be announced on December 23. The census will be conducted in line with the law on the agricultural census of 2003 and cost 125.4 million kuna (EUR16.72 million). It will include households engaged in agricultural production and agricultural companies and company units. The census will include data on land pool, use of farmland, agricultural production according to crops, areas covered by orchards and vineyards, fruit trees and vine-stocks, irrigation, fertilisation, farming machinery and facilities, livestock, agricultural labour, additional activities in farming households, sale of farming produce, etc. (hina) rml
