HDZ MP DOESN'T BELIEVE HE'S ON USA'S "BLACK LIST"

ZAGREB, May 30 (Hina) - A Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) parliamentary deputy, Ljubo Cesic aka Rojs, on Friday voiced suspicion about the authenticity of reports that his name was on a list of people whose property was blocked by the United States and who were denied entry in the USA.
#L# "I doubt it, I think this is a huge hoax," said Rojs commenting on the latest decision of US President George W. Bush to impose sanctions on individuals and organisations threatening peace and stability in the Western Balkans, including Cesic. He said that he possessed no property in the United States. Cesic believes he is being framed by his party colleagues and that he "obviously stands in the way of some individuals from the HDZ, mostly its construction lobby, thieves and mobsters who have plundered Croatia". Cesic claims he is a thorn in the side of former HDZ members as well as his current colleagues and people in the HDZ, Social Democratic Party and the Croatian People's Party, who he claims are in collusion and attack him because he openly speaks about unlawful activities. The latest "black list" of the Bush administration includes 172 persons and organisations, individuals from Bosnia-Herzegovina being the most numerous. The decision, which amends a decision from June 2001, reads that the sanctions refer to persons who obstruct the implementation of the Ohrid agreement, the U.N. decision on Kosovo, the Dayton peace accords for Bosnia-Herzegovina, decisions by the international community's High Representative and the Peace Implementation Council in Bosnia-Herzegovina, and harbour individuals indicted by the Hague-based U.N. war crimes tribunal. The sanctions also apply to persons who had financially assisted or approved the harbouring of war criminals, reads the decision. (hina) rml sb
