ZAGREB, May 28 (Hina) - The head committee of the European Movement and the advisory board of European House of Croatia on Wednesday accepted a resignation submitted by Ljubomir Cucic, president of European House and secretary-general
of the European Movement. The resignation will be forwarded to the assemblies of both associations as the responsible bodies that appointed Cucic and have the authority to relieve him of his duties.
ZAGREB, May 28 (Hina) - The head committee of the European Movement
and the advisory board of European House of Croatia on Wednesday
accepted a resignation submitted by Ljubomir Cucic, president of
European House and secretary-general of the European Movement. The
resignation will be forwarded to the assemblies of both
associations as the responsible bodies that appointed Cucic and
have the authority to relieve him of his duties. #L#
The assembly will more than likely meet in the autumn, European
Movement president Vlatko Silobrcic told Hina.
After a meeting on Wednesday that was closed to the public,
Silobrcic said that Cucic had submitted his resignation which the
head committee and advisory board accepted as an honourable and
responsibly moral act and not as admission of Cucic's guilt.
Cucic was recently accused in the press by his wife Magali Boers
Cucic of physical abuse which he adamantly denied.
The head committee of the European Movement and advisory board of
the European House of Croatia believe that the relevant bodies
should determine the facts, i.e. whether of not Cucic abused his
wife. They condemned the media lynch against him particularly in
the 'Nacional' weekly because it refused to publish Cucic's denial
of the accusations even though the weekly was legally obliged to do
so, Silobrcic stated. He added he expected 'Nacional' to publish
Cucic's statement.
