Croatia is among ten countries with the largest number of leftover
mines, but, fortunately, it is not among the leading ones, Plestina
said.
Croatia has spent some US$150 million for mine removal projects so
far. It sets aside around $20 million annually for this purpose, and
is granted another $10 million in donations and World Bank loans,
she said.
