ZAGREB, May 21 (Hina) - Ljubljana's Centre of Excellence in Finance
(CEF) and the Croatian finance ministry on Wednesday organised the
third conference of the CEF Supervisory Board in Zagreb. Croatian
Finance Minister Mato Crkvenac took over chairmanship of the board
from his Albanian counterpart. #L#
The purpose of the CEF is to create an environment which will enable
an exchange of experiences and information in public finances among
countries of the region, as well as the professional training of
financial experts.
The conference was attended by representatives of Albania, Bosnia-
Herzegovina, Croatia, Macedonia, Slovenia and Serbia-Montenegro.
The CEF's Supervisory Board is comprised of these countries'
finance ministers.
Present were also representatives of the International Monetary
Fund and World Bank, whose director in charge of the Central
European region, Roger Grow, said that the Bank supported this
initiative technically and financially. He added that it had set
aside US$370,000 through loans for technical assistance to the
CEF.
