BELGRADE, May 12 (Hina) - The integration process of Serbia and
Montenegro and other Southeast European countries with the EU will
be Ireland's top priority after it takes over chairmanship over the
EU in January 2004, Irish Foreign Minister Brian Cowen said in
Belgrade Monday after talks with his counterpart from Serbia and
Montenegro Goran Svilanovic. #L#
Svilanovic and Cowen agreed that the EU would not be complete until
the Balkan countries joined the Union. The two officials expressed
hope that an action plan for this process would be adopted at a
coming summit in Salonika.
