ZAGREB, May 5 (Hina) - The Croatian data storage market was worth US$29.36 million and grew by 30.9 percent, read preliminary data by the Croatian office of the IDC analyst company as presented at the second conference on storage
solutions, IDS Storage Roadshow, in Zagreb on Monday.

The director of IDC Croatia, Boris Zitnik, said Croatia was one of
the fastest growing segments of regional Internet Technology
markets. He stressed that IDC Croatia had managed to gather for the
second consecutive year the strongest producers and providers of
data storage solutions in Croatia on the one side and clients on the
other, to inform them of the basic technology trends on the data
storage market.
Zitnik said that last year the storage hardware segment grew by 16.3
percent, the software segment by as much as 193.5%, while the
storage services segment grew by 31 percent.
The leading producer in data storage in Croatia is the Hewlett-
Packard company, which last year earned some US$9.5 million,
followed by EMC with nine million dollars, and IBM with a little
over seven million.
This year's conference, which took place in Zagreb after Prague and
Budapest, gathered some 150 participants and included 13
presentations.
Lectures pertained to improving business by data storing and safe-
keeping. The conference also focused on data storage management in
computer networks, data storage software and the evolution of the
storage system.
