Picula informed the U.S. official about the situation in Croatia and efforts the government was making to implement the reforms necessary for admission to the European Union and NATO. Powell conveyed his country's support for the continuation of Croatia's integration in Euro-Atlantic structures and its positive role in the region, adding that the U.S. highly appreciated Croatia's active role in the anti-terrorist coalition, the statement noted.
