HR-BULLETIN-Politika BRIEF NEWS BULLETIN IN ENGLISH NO. 4939 HINA Zagreb 30 April 2003PRESIDENT MESIC MEETS AUSTRIAN FOREIGN MINISTERZAGREB, April 30 (Hina) - Croatian President Stjepan Mesic met Austrian Foreign Minister Benita Ferrero-Waldner in Zagreb on Wednesday, the President's Office said in a statement. There are no open issues in the two countries' relations which are developing continually, Mesic said at the meeting. Both officials agreed about Croatia's obligation to fully cooperate with the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) in The Hague. Austria helped Croatia when the country was struggling for independence and today is one of the countries which most strongly support Croatia's candidacy for membership in the European Union, the statement said. The Austrian official welcomed President Mesic's proposal that he and the leaders of Bosnia-Herzegovina and Serbia and Montenegro sign a declaration defining the principles of refugee return.
