Archbishop, Cardinal Vinko Puljic, said. #L#
In an interview with Saturday's issue of Sarajevo's Oslobodjenje
daily, Puljic said his stand about this issue was the same as two
years ago, when he had spoken at a convention of the Croatian
National Assembly in Novi Travnik, at which attempts were made to
declare Croat self-government.
"This country should be organised in such a way that would enable
all three peoples and every citizen to be truly equal throughout its
territory," Puljic said, adding some more time would have to pass
before the whole truth about the Novi Travnik convention came to
light.
He said that a lot of foul dealings had been going on at the time, and
added that some people "are still untouchable", but he would not
speak about them saying courts should deal with them.
Commenting on claims by Croatian Democratic Union leader Ivo
Sanader's claims that the return of Bosnia's Croatian Democratic
Union to power had changed the status of Croats in the country,
Cardinal Puljic said what mattered was not which party was in power
but whether the Croat people in Bosnia-Herzegovina could exercise
their right to be different and yet contribute to building the
country.
