Two international experts will visit prisons and some police
stations, Keane told Belgrade's news agency Beta. The two experts
will have free access to these institutions, according to an
agreement with the Serbian government.
After the Human Rights Watch expressed concern over the treatment
of prisoners who have been remanded in custody for 30 days without
the possibility of communication with their attorneys or families,
the Serbian government invited international organisations to tour
the prisons and see that prisoners were being treated humanely.
