Prodi briefly addressed press on the margins of a summit of the
Southeast European Cooperation Process (SEECP) held in Belgrade.
He said that the message that he brought was that this too was a part
of Europe.
He added that he had already relayed that message today and that it
would be articulated and elaborated in detail at the EU summit in
Salonika in June.
Asked by Croatian reporters about the procedure concerning
Croatia's application for membership of the EU, Prodi said that it
had already begun and that a response would arrive.
