care programme for redundant workers of the Borovo company was
signed in Vukovar Monday. #L#
According to the agreement, the 1,745 workers who have been made
redundant 12 years ago will receive 1,500 kuna (EUR195) each for
every year of service. The amount covers all of their unpaid
salaries.
A total of 65 million kuna would be necessary for redundancy
payments in Borovo in which around 22,000 workers were employed
before the Homeland War, as against only 1,300 today. The footwear
factory will collect the money through a loan with collateral
provided by the state, which it will pay off from selling real-
estate which is no longer important for the company.
