The co-ordinator of the project and its architect, Radman, said the
goal of the institute was to create a scientific environment and
material possibilities which would assist young people in
developing their talents as soon as possible.
A lot of young people will have the opportunity to test themselves
in brief courses, after which a somewhat steadier team will be
formed, he said.
Croatian Science and Technology Minister Gvozden Flego said that
the project was of strategic interest for Croatia and the
Mediterranean, particularly for Split.
The declaration was signed in the presence of President Stjepan
Mesic by Radman, Prime Minister Ivica Racan, Minister Flego, Split
mayor Slobodan Beros and Split University head Ivan Pavic.
The institute is expected to open in late summer.
