DUBROVNIK DUBROVNIK, March 21 (Hina) - A two-day convention of the Mediterranean Lions clubs started in Dubrovnik on Friday. The event, which pooled about three hundred participants from almost all Mediterranean countries, is held
under the auspices of Croatia's President Stjepan Mesic.

The convention is the first Lions meeting to be held in Croatia and
the Dubrovnik Lions Club is the oldest one in Croatia. There are 47
Lions clubs in the country. Dubrovnik's branch was founded on
October 25, 1990.
The event will include several lectures and discussions dedicated
to sociological, environmental and economic topics as well as a
plenary session focusing on the improvement of social and cultural
living conditions of the most needy ones.
