OPATIJA, March 21 (Hina) - Croatian Railway (HZ) has chosen the German company Bombardier to deliver eight diesel tilting trains worth 32.3 million euros, HZ officials said on Friday at the end of a two-day international seminar on
investments in the HZ's development and modernisation.

HZ officials say "Regioswinger" tilting trains would increase
speed along national railway lines by 30% without requiring the
building of high-speed railway lines. All trains should be
delivered by the end of May 2004 and will first travel between
Zagreb and Split, reducing the duration of the journey to four hours
and 53 minutes.
The HZ also plans to buy another five electrical tilting trains,
which are to travel between Zagreb and Rijeka.
