"None of the employees will be left to the streets or be dismissed
without their status being solved in line with the Labour Act, which
stipulates the payment of redundancy pays within a certain period
of time," Begovic said.
Some 200 of the total of 1,746 Borovo employees, who have been made
redundant, arrived in front of the government building in Zagreb
this morning. The workers in question have not worked for as many as
12 years.
The only possible solution is to reach an agreement setting the
formal date when the labour rights will cease for the redundant
workers, a realistic and acceptable amount of redundancy pay and
the tempo of the payment of overdue salaries and severance pays.
The agreement will start being harmonised next week so that it may
be confirmed by March 31, Minister Jurcic said.
