Since the beginning of its work in Croatia in 1994, the EBRD has
invested a total of EUR1.3 billion through 58 different projects
valued at EUR3.5 billion, Krapotkin said at the "Agribusiness
Forum" organised by the bank and the Croatian finance ministry.
According to the amount of funds invested by the EBRD, Croatia is
the fourth in the region, after Russia, Ukraine and Poland. Croatia
is followed by 23 countries. Along with two direct bank credit lines
for the stimulation of agriculture, the EBRD has participated in
the projects of Agrokor, Podravka, Panonska pivovara, Vetropack,
Getro, Veletrznica, etc.
Croatian companies have the potential for expansion onto other
markets, especially those of south-eastern Europe, since Croatian
products are more competitive on these markets than on the markets
of western European countries, says the bank.
