The interrogations of Croatian war veterans are most frequently initiated by statements they gave under duress in Serb-run concentration camps, Borkovic told a news conference.
"I am warning state authorities who are conducting interrogations of veterans based on their testimonies in the concentration camps that they are committed a criminal offence," Borkovic said calling on veterans who have been receiving summons to ask veteran associations for assistance and to go to the police accompanied by their lawyers.
He said that war veterans demanded an urgent meeting with Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor on the matter.
