After a meeting between representatives of the union and Primorje-
Gorski Kotar County Prefect Zlatko Komadina, Tremul said the
steering board had accepted a draft programme for Edit's financial
rehabilitation. He also said that a part of funds for financing the
Italian community via the People's University in Trieste, had been
deposited onto the union's account.
Komadina said the two sides at the meeting had confirmed their
cooperation and agreed that the county support the publishing
company with 100,000 kuna (EUR13,158). This relays a message to the
Trieste university that financing of Edit and good relations should
be established as soon as possible, said Komadina.
Edit is currently in financial difficulties due to debts
accumulated over the years.
The Italian Union's Executive Council's chairman, Silvano Zilli,
said that until a public tender was announced, the steering council
would ask Radin to last until the end of term.
