The local state prosecutor's office seeks quashing the verdict and
a retrial because not all facts were established during the trial,
Michele Squiccimarro, the county's deputy state prosecutor, said
on Monday.
A five-member panel of judges presided by Slavko Lozina last
November 22 acquitted eight ex-military police officers of charges
of war crimes committed against Serb civilians in Lora in mid-
1992.
The deadline to appeal the ruling expired today. It is now up to the
Supreme Court to decide whether to quash the verdict and order a
retrial or dismiss the appeal and make the acquittal final.
