ZAGREB, (Hina) Feb 7 (Hina) - The parliamentary committees for
interior and foreign affairs will next week discuss Croatia's
approval to a Joint Statement by the so-called Vilnius Group
offering its support to the US to attack Iraq. #L#
This was announced on Friday afternoon by Sabor President Zlatko
Tomcic in response to a request by the Croatian Party of Rights
(HSP) bench that parliament should explain what decision of the
government or parliament authorised Foreign Minister Tonino Picula
to sign the said Joint Statement.
Tomcic could not specify the exact day for the next meeting of the
said committees however he promised MPs that they would be advised
on time.
The Sabor head is convinced that because of the delicacy of the
topic, the meeting would be behind closed doors however, the final
decision regarding the matter would be made by the presidents of the
committees.
With that the Sabor ended its 29th session. The 30th session should
commence after a two week break.
