on Sunday held talks with Strobe Talbott, the director of the
Brookings institute and a Deputy Secretary of State in the Bill
Clinton Administration. The Drnovsek-Talbott meeting, held on the
margins of the World Economic Forum in Davos, revolved around the
problems in Southeast Europe and Euro-Atlantic integration

According to a statement released by Drnovsek's office, the Slovene
head of state informed his interlocutor of the active Slovene role
in the stabilisation of the region.
Talbott described the current situation in the region much better
than it had been a few years before.
