ROME, Jan 20 (Hina) - Stability in the Balkans is one of the key
topics of a two-day meeting of the Socialist International Council
that began on Monday in Rome and is being attended by Croatian
Foreign Minister Tonino Picula who is representing Croatia's
Social Democrats. Picula spoke about Croatia's integration hopes.

Speaking about prospects of Southeast Europe, Minister Picula said
that the future of the countries in that region lies in European
integration and he announced that in February Zagreb would request
full membership of the European Union.
On he margins of the conference, Minister Picula met with
Montenegro's Foreign Minister Dragan Buzan with whom he will meet
officially in about two months' time and as he told reporters, they
would then discuss Prevlaka in an attempt to come to bilateral
agreements.
