ZAGREB, Jan 17 (Hina) - A delegation of the Social Democratic Party
(SDP) will take part in a meeting of the Socialist International
Council (SI) to be held in Rome, January 20, 21. #L#
As the SDP reported on Friday, the party will be represented by
Tonino Picula, member of the SDP Presidency, Igor Dragovan, party's
secretary and Irina Stajcic, international secretary.
The Council will discuss stability and development in Southeast
Europe - the Balkans, the peace process and security in the Near
East, as well as the general contribution by the Socialists
International towards advancing democracy in the world.
Tonino Picula will hold an introductory speech on stability in
Southeast Europe.
Prior to the two-day convention in Rome, on January 17 & 18, the
Council of the Socialist International for Women (SIW) will hold
its convention. The Social Democratic forum of Women of the SDP will
also attend this convention and their representative will be
Mirjana Feric-Vac. The women's forum will be dedicated to the
problem of migration and security for women.
