"We have a rich experience in negotiations with the EU and are
prepared to share it with Croatia," Valionis said after talks with
his Croatian counterpart Tonino Picula.
Lithuania last year completed negotiations with the EU, after which
it was officially invited to join the Union.
Picula congratulated Lithuania for this success, assessing it as
useful for Croatia.
"This is good news for Croatia because it has received a new
advocate which will help Croatia join the EU," said Picula.
The two ministers also tackled bilateral cooperation. The two
countries have so far signed six agreements and their trade amounts
to about five million U.S. dollars.
"This is impermissibly low," Picula said and invited Lithuanian
business people to visit Zagreb and Croatia.
Picula is encouraged by the increasing interest of Lithuanians in
Croatia. He cited the figure of 15,000 tourists from this Baltic
country who visited last year.
