ZAGREB, Jan 9 (Hina) - The Croatian Radio and Television (HRT)
Council on Thursday dismissed a draft national television's
programme scheme proposed by the Croatian Television's (HTV)
editor-in-chief, Jasna Ulaga Valic, for the period from January
through May. #L#
The Council committed Valic to prepare, by the next session, a
document on all changes to and departures from the programme scheme
adopted last May, accompanied by explanations for the changes. They
added the text should be "linguistically refined".
Some Council members refused the proposal stating the text was not
linguistically refined, and that Valic had even used "unacceptable
words" in the text.
A representative of Matrix Croatica, Vlaho Bogisic, requested that
HRT director Mirko Galic dismiss the person who had written the
document, without specifying whether he meant Valic or some of her
associates.
Due to a lengthy discussion about a number of issues such as "the
destruction of work" of the Council, the leaking of information
from the HRT and personal squabbles among Council members, the
Council once again failed to discuss a solution to the "editorial
crisis" at the HTV.
