Croatia to start EU entry talks on 17 March 2005

BRUSSELS, Dec 17 (Hina) - The European Council decided in Brussels onFriday that negotiations with Croatia on EU membership would belaunched on March 17, 2005, the Croatian Foreign Ministry and Europeandiplomatic sources reported.
BRUSSELS, Dec 17 (Hina) - The European Council decided in Brussels on Friday that negotiations with Croatia on EU membership would be launched on March 17, 2005, the Croatian Foreign Ministry and European diplomatic sources reported.

According to European sources, conclusions have been changed in relation to before when it was stated that negotiations would be launched under condition that the cooperation with the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia is confirmed.

Membership talks will start on 17 March if Croatia is fully cooperating with the ICTY, European sources cited the Council as saying.
