The licence, for which the company had applied on 18 November, was awarded for a period of 30 years.
The company, which is owned by the Electromagic company from Split, paid eight million kuna for the licence.
Earlier this year, the Telecommunications Agency Council decided to grant a fixed telephony operating licence to Optima Telekom. This makes T-Croatian Telecom (T-HT), until recently Croatia's only fixed telephony operator, one of the three such operators in the country.
The prices of phone services will depend on the companies' future commercial agreement, as well as on their agreement with mobile telephony operators. Almost all operators have announced that they will lower their prices next year.
