ZAGREB, Dec 7 (Hina) - The Counterintelligence Agency (POA) on Tuesdaydeclined to comment on a media report saying that the POA chief haddismissed his deputy and the head of the agency's Zagreb Office over ascandal surrounding the
interrogation of a free-lance journalist.
ZAGREB, Dec 7 (Hina) - The Counterintelligence Agency (POA) on
Tuesday declined to comment on a media report saying that the POA chief had
dismissed his deputy and the head of the agency's Zagreb Office over a scandal
surrounding the interrogation of a free-lance journalist."Any commenting of such information is forbidden," a POA spokeswoman
told Hina by telephone, citing Article 54 of the Security Services Act.
The Zagreb-based daily Vecernji List said in its Tuesday issue that POA
Director Josko Podbevsek had sacked his deputy, Ante Glavan, and the head of
the agency's Zagreb Office, Mario Frlan, following the interrogation of
journalist Helena Puljiz in October.
Neither official nor unofficial confirmation of the report could be
obtained from the Government on Tuesday.
