ZAGREB, Dec 5 (Hina) - A dozen civil society associations issued ajoint statement on Sunday saying that the case of reporter HelenaPuljiz "will not and must not be closed" without the appropriatepunishment and a revision of relevant
laws and regulations, notablythe Counterintelligence Agency (POA) rule book.
ZAGREB, Dec 5 (Hina) - A dozen civil society associations issued a
joint statement on Sunday saying that the case of reporter Helena Puljiz "will
not and must not be closed" without the appropriate punishment and a revision
of relevant laws and regulations, notably the Counterintelligence Agency (POA)
rule book.The statement said that the agents who interrogated Puljiz, as well as
the POA chief, were the first who must be appropriately sanctioned.
It added the Puljiz case must serve as the starting point for a thorough
analysis of the organisation of security services from the perspective of
human rights protection.
The statement was sent to the heads of state, parliament and the
government, and to the Security Services Supervision Council.
The statement read it was endorsed by the Croatian Journalists
Society.
