OPATIJA, Nov 17 (Hina) - The Third Croatian Veterinarian Congress,which pooled about 400 experts, was opened by Agriculture MinisterPetar Cobankovic in the northern Adriatic resort of Opatija onWednesday.
OPATIJA, Nov 17 (Hina) - The Third Croatian Veterinarian Congress, which pooled about 400 experts, was opened by Agriculture Minister Petar Cobankovic in the northern Adriatic resort of Opatija on Wednesday.

The minister said the veterinary profession would be among the most demanding and difficult fields in the process of adjusting to European Union standards.

Cobankovic spoke, among other things, about strategic guidelines in the development of agriculture and cattle breeding within preparations for joining the EU. He underlined the need to step up the production of milk, meat, fruit, vegetables, and olives.

The congress ends on November 20.
