BELGRADE, Nov 15 (Hina) - Belgrade's electronic and print media
attached great importance to the visit of Croatian Prime Minister Ivo Sanader
to Belgrade, highlighting that this was the first visit of a Croatian PM after
the normalisation of the two countries' relations, and that the signing of an
agreement on minorities had a historic meaning.Belgrade's Politika daily carried an interview with PM Sanader conducted
by the Tanjug news agency, headlined "Many Painful Topics" and sub-headed
"Europe Hailed My Visit to Belgrade".
Sanader's assessment that "the agreement on the protection of national
minorities' rights is a historic agreement between Croatia and Serbia and
Montenegro" was also cited.
"The values of contemporary Europe are known and one of those values is
respect for human rights and the rights of minorities. The signing of the
agreement will mean a lot for the Croat national minority in Serbia and
Montenegro and the Serbian and Montenegrin national minorities in Croatia," the
media cited Sanader as saying.
