Marine, the president of the Croatian Seamen'sUnion, Vladimir Svalina, told Hina on Monday evening.
RIJEKA, Nov 2 (Hina) - Croatian sailor Sasa Beljan (1984) was found
dead several days ago on the Italian boat Skjolbord in the Ivory Coast and his
family received the news about his death from the Rijeka-based maritime agency
Globe Marine, the president of the Croatian Seamen's Union, Vladimir Svalina,
told Hina on Monday evening.According to Svalina, the written confirmation of Beljan's death should
arrive within the next several days via the Croatian Embassy in Morocco.
Sasa Beljan boarded the ship, which is sailing under Malta's flag, in
early October and this was his first route.
Svalina said that according to unofficial information, the Croatian
sailor died of an overdose.
