initiate proceedings against 26persons responsible for crimes against Croatian citizens committed inthe Bucje prison camp during the Serb aggression on Croatia in 1991.
PAKRAC, Sept 18 (Hina) - The head of a senior Croatian Christian
Democratic Union (HKDU) party body and leader of the party's branch in Pakrac
and Lipik, Miroslav Ivancic, on Saturday urged the Pakrac Town Council to
endorse a request to initiate proceedings against 26 persons responsible for
crimes against Croatian citizens committed in the Bucje prison camp during the
Serb aggression on Croatia in 1991.Speaking at a news conference, Ivancic recalled that the Pakrac war
veterans' association five years ago pressed charges with the county
prosecutor's office against 26 Serb aggressors, responsible for crimes
committed against Croatian soldiers and civilians from the areas of Pakrac and
Lipik, however, the charges were never considered.
Some 250 Croats and members of the Czech, Italian and Slovak minorities
and other communities, were imprisoned in the Bucje prison camp, which existed
from 16 August to 13 December 1991.
