Experts of the Bombardier Transportation company which produces this kind of high-speed trains guarantee that trains delivered to Croatia are absolutely safe and that those are brand new rail vehicles.
Before their delivery, the trains underwent technical tests and they are under warranty, the HZ public relations office said in a press release on Thursday evening.
"For precautionary measures, eight trains will undergo additional tests and ultrasound tests, too, but this will not cause the interruption of their service at the Zagreb-Split line as they will be tested one by one by ultrasound," the press release read.
Trains' axles will be examined always after the vehicles pass 60,000 kilometres.
The first Croatian tilting train has not yet passed 10,000 kilometres.
The press release was issued against the backdrop of the fact that a crack was spotted at the axle of a train of the VT 612 series in Germany (the same series as in Croatia), and for precaution, 192 tilting trains of that series will be tested.
Trains of this kind have been in service in Germany for four years.
