ZAGREB, May 14 (Hina) - Retired major general Mate Lausic, former military police chief, on Friday ended the second day of interviews with investigators of the U.N. war crimes tribunal in The Hague, which were conducted at the tribunal's Zagreb offices.#L# Like yesterday, Lausic declined to speak to the press, refusing to say if today's 10-hour interview was the last. According to unofficial sources, the interviews likely addressed Operation Medak Pocket of 1993 and the 1995 operations Flash and Storm, when Lausic was commander of the military police. Lausic's attorney Jadranka Slokovic was not present at the interviews. She was unable to confirm if today's interview was the last. The fact that Lausic did not have his legal representative present could indicate that he was interviewed as a witness and not as a suspect, but there has been no official confirmation. According to unofficial sources, Lausic brought to the interview documents evidencing measures that had been taken by the military police against alleged perpetrators of crimes committed during and in the wake of the liberating operations.
