ZADAR, May 11 (Hina) - Police in the central Adriatic seaport of Zadar on Tuesday arrested on the basis of an international warrant a Croatian citizen from central Bosnia's Busovaca on suspicion that he committed war crimes against civilians. #L# Zadar police did not state the name of the 42-year-old man in its press release, but Hina learnt that he is Vlado Cosic, one of a four-man group accused of war crimes against civilians committed in the central Bosnian village of Ahmici in 1993. He was escorted to the Zagreb County Prison. An operation launched to arrest the so-called Ahmici gang saw Zadar police arresting Tomislav Vlajic and Ante Sliskovic in September 2000, while Pasko Ljubicic and Cosic escaped. All four had been living in the wider Zadar area under false names. Ljubicic turned himself in and was extradited to the war crimes tribunal in The Hague, which indicted him. Vlajic and Sliskovic were in the custody of the Zadar and Zagreb county courts for six months. No indictment was issued against them and they were let go after dozens of witnesses from Bosnia-Herzegovina and Croatia failed to testify against them. Cosic had been hiding until today. (Hina) ha
