reciprocal protection of investments.#L#
The agreement will soon be supplemented with agreements on cooperation
in tourism and on the avoidance of double taxation, which will create
conditions for further improving economic cooperation between Croatia
and San Marino, Vukelic said.
Further impetus will also be provided by the decision of the two
governments to make it possible for their citizens to use only an ID
card when travelling to either country as tourists.
The decision has entered into force in San Marino today, whereas in
Croatia it will become effective as of June 1.
Berardi said his country fully supported ongoing reforms in Croatia
and its efforts to join the European Union as soon as possible.
According to figures from the Economy Ministry, Croatia's exports to
San Marino in 2002 totalled US1.3 million while at the same time its
imports amounted to US572,800.
Officials at the Croatian ministry believe that the two countries can
increase their cooperation in a number of areas, particularly in
tourism, textile and wood-processing industries, and through
investments in free trade zones.
