BELGRADE, May 6 (Hina) - The President of the Union of Serbia and Montenegro, Svetozar Marovic, on Thursday signed a law ratifying an agreement with Croatia on the readmission of persons whose entry or presence on the territory of either country is illegal, the Office of the President said in a statement. The law was endorsed by the country's Assembly on Wednesday.#L# Ratification of the readmission agreement was one of the topics discussed at a meeting in Belgrade last week by Croatian Foreign Ministry State Secretary Hido Biscevic and the newly-appointed Foreign Minister of Serbia and Montenegro, Vuk Draskovic. Biscevic told Croatian reporters after the talks that he had called for the agreement to be ratified by Serbia and Montenegro as soon as possible in view of a growing number of citizens illegally crossing the Croatian border after Croatia decided to suspend visa requirements for citizens of Serbia and Montenegro. Croatia has ratified the agreement before. The agreement will make it possible for persons who have illegally crossed the border to be returned to the country from which they entered, regardless of whose nationals they are. (Hina) vm
