HND ANNOUNCES WINNERS OF 2003 JOURNALISTIC AWARDS

ZAGREB, May 3 (Hina) - The Croatian Journalists' Association (HND) on Monday announced the winners of journalistic awards for 2003. The decision on journalist of the year, nominees being Robert Valdec and Boris Dezulovic, will be announced at an award-giving ceremony on Friday.#L# The HND's life achievement award went to Zarko Susic, reporter of "Vjesnik" daily. The best report award went to Kresimir Zabec of "Jutarnji List" daily for a report on Prime Minister Ivo Sanader's chief of security. Vlado Vurusic of "Globus" weekly won the best reportage award, while Ivo Pukanic, editor and reporter of "Nacional" weekly, won the best interview award for his interview with Ante Gotovina, the runaway general indicted by the UN war crimes tribunal in The Hague. The best column award went to Marinko Culic of "Feral Tribune" weekly, while Diana Glavina from "Vecernji list" daily won the best investigative reporter award for an article on the death of seven babies who underwent heart surgery. In the category of radio journalism, Danijel Pek from Radio Free Europe won the best report award, while Morana Susac from Zagreb's Radio 101 won the best reportage award. Croatian Radio's "Glas Hrvatske" radio programme, hosted by Domagoj Versic, won the best radio programme award. In the category of television journalism, Robert Valdec from the CCN TV station won the best report award, the best reportage award went to Croatian Television's (HTV) Tonci Bonaci, while another HTV reporter, Mislav Bago, won the best interview award for his interview with PM Ivo Sanader. HTV's reporter Morana Kasapovic won the best investigative reporter award, and her colleague Jura Ozmec won the best commentary award for his comment on an incident caused by Croatian fans at a water polo game in Slovenia. HTV's programme "Poslovni klub", hosted by Djuro Tomljenovic, won the best TV programme award. (Hina) rml
