Mesic and Krivokapic discussed possibilities of promoting bilateral
relations, stressing the importance of building the Adriatic-Ionian
Highway that would have an effect on the development of the economy.
Also discussed were national minorities, which were described as a
link between the two countries. It was said at the meeting that the
position of the Croatian minority in Montenegro was improving.
The two officials expressed satisfaction with cooperation between
Croatia and Montenegro at all levels.
Krivokapic took the opportunity to congratulate Croatia on the
European Commission's positive opinion of its application for European
Union membership, saying that it was an encouragement to Montenegro.
