ZAGREB, April 22 (Hina) - Croatian Parliament President Vladimir Seks on Thursday received the chairman of the Slovakian parliament's Committee on Foreign Affairs, Jan Figel, who is on an official visit to Croatia, the parliament's
public relations office said in a statement.

Seks congratulated Slovakia on its great success in the realisation of
its strategic objectives on the foreign political front and expressed
hope the two countries would exchange experience from the process of
drawing closer to NATO and the European Union, the statement said.
He supported Slovakia's candidacy for a non-permanent member of the UN
Security Council for 2006-2007 and expressed hope Slovakia would
support Croatia's candidacy for 2008-2009.
Figel congratulated Croatia on winning the invitation for negotiations
on the EU entry, saying the positive avis was important not only for
Croatia but for the entire region as well, the statement said,
Figel expressed conviction that not only Slovakia but also other EU
member-states would support Croatia's candidacy status in June.
