ZAGREB, April 20 (Hina) - The head of the Croatian parliament's foreign affairs committee, Neven Jurica, on Tuesday held talks with his Romanian counterpart Radu Podgoreanu on the two countries' cooperation, notably within the framework of drawing closer to Euro-Atlantic associations.#L# Jurica told reporters that Romania's support was very important to Croatia and that he asked the Romanian side to use its influence in the process of drafting a final document at a NATO summit in Istanbul in June. Romania became a full member of NATO three weeks ago and is expected to join the EU along with Bulgaria in 2007. Croatia hopes to join them then. The chairman of the Romanian Foreign Affairs Committee said this meeting was a continuation of the two countries' excellent relations. "I hope we will be together in the EU and NATO very soon and in that context we are open to cooperation and exchange of experience," Podgoreanu said. The Romanian delegation also held talks with Croatian Parliament President Vladimir Seks. Seks congratulated Romania on joining NATO and hailed the country's progress in EU accession talks. He reiterated his invitation to the chairmen of both chambers of the Romanian parliament to visit Croatia in the near future. (Hina) it
