This was also confirmed by Croatian Finance Minister Ivan Suker who, over the past two days, held talks with representatives of financial and investment companies and rating agencies. Croatia needs foreign investments, but investors seek not only security but also an easier way to make investments in the country as well as the continuation of reforms. The finance ministry is preparing a tax reform which, along with changes to the income tax, will include changes to contributions. The ministry is also working on removing administrative obstacles for investors. Members of the Croatian delegation and EBRD representatives also discussed the possibilities for financing units of local self-government. According to Croatian Radio, the Croatian delegation and the EBRD officials also talked about a possibility that the EBRD annual assembly in 2007 be held in Zagreb. Since 1993, the EBRD has invested over EUR1.4 billion, more than 60 % of which went to the private sector. (Hina) it
